This page is where you'll find news and happenings associated with the Walker Art Collection, Garnett Community Gallery and the West Wing Gallery, all located at 125 W. 4th Avenue in scenic Garnett, KS. Maynard Walker, an art dealer in new York during the 1930s and 1940s donated works of art to the Garnett Public Library for the establishment of the Mary Bridget McAuliffe Walker Art Collection. A tribute to his mother, the gallery of both American and European artists include a variety of paintings, drawings and sculptures by such famous artists as John Steuart Curry, Thomas Hart Benton, Edouard Manet, Jean Baptiste Corot, Walt Kuhn, just to name a few. A community gallery offers monthly exhibits. The Walker Art Committee host an annual national juried art show during the months of April and May and works from across the nation are exhibited in the galleries adjoining the Walker Art Collection.
