Warren Street is a London Underground station, located at the intersection of Tottenham Court Road and Euston Road, named after Warren Street. It is on the branch of the Northern line, between and, and the Victoria line between and Euston. It is in Travelcard Zone 1 and is the nearest tube station to University College Hospital, being opposite the newly opened main building. It is also very close to on the Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines, which is at the other side of the hospital building.HistoryThe station opened as part of the original Charing Cross, Euston & Hampstead Railway on 22 June 1907 under the name "Euston Road", and this name can still be seen in the Northern line platform tiling. The platforms were built on the outside of the running lines. The station's name changed to "Warren Street" the following year. In 1934, the current station building replaced the original when escalators were installed. The Victoria line platforms opened on 1 December 1968. As part of introducing automatic ticket gates with the Victoria line, the ability to freely interchange with Euston Square station was withdrawn on 1 March 1969.
