William Jewell Department of Nursing stands apart due to its strong commitment to liberal arts, leadership and clinical excellence. All nursing students are exposed to the distinctive liberal arts orientation of William Jewell College and are able to understand the notion of mind/body/spirit, not only within the context of nursing, but also through a variety of courses in the liberal studies curriculum. The clear focus on the “whole person” gives William Jewell nursing students a decided advantage in understanding the complexities of the people they will care for as nurses.
The Department of Nursing offers five educational tracks for obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing- the traditional 3- and 4-year tracks, two accelerated tracks (12 and 16 month), and an RN-BSN track. Transfer students can enter the program in fall or spring. Each educational track offers the same nursing curriculum and requirements, earning the program a well-deserved reputation of being the premiere baccalaureate nursing program in the region. Our nursing program is CCNE accredited.
