The Wilton Firefighters Association (WFA) was established in the early 1960's by three Wilton residents and former firefighters, Al Iaccopucci, Adolph Heim, and Hank Razano. With the morale and welfare of the Wilton community in mind, the founder's objectives for the Association were to be both social and beneficial to its members and to also create activities that were good for the community. These objectives were accomplished through monthly Association breakfasts, annual Association dinners, monthly blood drives, and various fundraisers to raise monies for local community organizations, the Firefighter's Burn Institute, and the Al Jones Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Now, nearly 50 years later, the Wilton Firefighters Association has over 60 active members, consisting of residential volunteer firefighters, paid shift volunteer firefighters, and lifetime members. Although many of the faces have changed, the integrity and objectives of the Association still remains the same.
