About Woodridge Kiwanis

The Woodridge Kiwanis Club was formed in 1956 with the ideal of making a better community for Fallsburg Central School District youth and their families. We have been working hard at this goal ever since. At the current time, there are 26 members in our Club from all corners of the Town of Fallsburg, and beyond. This is not just a “Woodridge” Kiwanis Club. Everyone is welcome.

Some of our accomplishments include:

1. We built the original Little League field at Krieger Park;
2. We raised money for the purchase of a van for disabled
children;
3. We donated money to CASA for children’s court and
help for abused children;
4. We donated clothing and household supplies to “Safe
Passage” to be used to create a new beginning for women
and children from abusive relationships;
5. “Bring Up Grades (BUG)” program encourages Fallsburg Elementary students to do better in school;
6. We supply winter outerware to Fallsburg Elementary
for children without the proper winter attire;
7. Donation of books to Head Start and Fallsburg Elementary
Students, including new Webster Dictionaries;
8. Scholarships to graduating Fallsburg High seniors;
9. Food and money donations to Fallsburg area food pantries;
10. Sponsored KEY CLUB, a service group for Fallsburg High
students, BUILDERS CLUB for Middle School students, and
a K-Kids program for the Elementary School students.
And much more....

These are only a few of the things Kiwanis’ works so hard to accom-
plish. Fundraisers help with the cost of these programs: Pancake Breakfasts, Raffles, and Mother’s Day Plant Sales, among other things.
