Woodstick was held on Sunday, April 26th. Thank you to everyone who participated!! Here's a description about our past event. We will keep you posted when our next Woodstick drumming event will be scheduled in 2016:



This charity event is organized in cooperation with Groove Music for Youth, Emerald Queen Casino, Donn Bennett Drum Studios, and Seattle American Music. Proceeds from Woodstick will go toward Groove Music For Youth, a Crime Stoppers-affiliated program that provides musical instruments to under-funded schools and at risk youth.

Woodstick is the largest gathering of drummers of all ages playing drumsets ever assembled. We will attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the most drummers playing the same beat simultaneously. Drummers in Birmingham, England broke our old record with 583 drummers in 2008, and again in 2012 with 798 drummers. It's time for us to bring the record back to the Northwest where this all started. $15 fee for Participants - admission

$10 fee for Spectators - admission

PARTICIPANT & SPECTATOR PLEDGE LEVELS- Please note: both participants and spectators have the opportunity to participate in raising money in pledges to receive a souvenir event laminate, t-shirt, and/or addmission to backstage Meet & Greet with the Celebrity Drummers (see pledge levels below):

$50 in pledges - souvenir event laminate

$100 in pledges - souvenir event laminate and t-shirt

$175 in pledges - souvenir event laminate, t-shirt, and first 4 rows seating (first 4 rows seating for drummers).

$250 fee for GROOVE Package - admission, Drum Kit Supplied (for drummers - only ten available), admission to Celebrity Drummers Meet & Greet, front row seating (for drummers), souvenir laminate, and t-shirt. FUNDRAISING

Woodstick Big Beat is a fundraising event to raise money for local school music programs. We hightly encourage all participants to raise pledges much like you would in a walk-a-thon. Bill Cantlon raised the most money, and he won a 7-piece Mapex MyDentity drum kit.



DRUMS NEEDED TO PARTICIPATE

If you participate, you'll need drums to play. In order to be counted in the Guinness World Record, your drum kit must consist of:

A bass drum with a pedal

A snare drum with a stand

A tom tom

A hi-hat, ride or crash cymbal

PRIZES GIVEN AWAY

There will be over $10,000 in prizes awarded to Woodstick Participants.

Anyone can enter the drum set contests. Prizes awarded in each category for:

Best Vintage Drum Kit


VOLUNTEERS

Our volunteers helped us in these areas: Floor set up, setting up & tearing down of GROOVE package drum sets, and general help. Stage help must be over 18, and know how to properly set up and tear down a drum set.
