Wyndean Kennels

Wyndean Kennels is owned by Larry and Hazel Parks and has been in business for over 50 years. Our love affair with German Shepherds began with our first pair, Tina and Sampson.

We started obedience classes with Tina and then Sampson in 1956. We put a CDX on Tina and Utility on Sampson in 1958.

We added four more German Shepherds to our kennel, making a total of six soon after. This increase in our family of dogs caused us to move to a larger facility.

In 1959, we met with Virginia McCoy of Long Worth Kennels in Allegan, Michigan. With her, we formed the Wolverine German Shepherd Dog Club of Kalamazoo. This club remains very active to this day.

Also in 1959 we joined as members of the German Shepherd Dog Club of America.

In 1962, we moved to our current facility at 6096 Whitneyville Road in Alto, Michigan. Our property, consists of a total of 40 acres and includes our house, a barn and the kennels facilities.

With our reputation of our Shepherds, we branched out into boarding and grooming others’ dogs. We then remodeled the inside of our barn for obedience classes which we have ran for over 50 years.
