The Department of Physics at Yale University consists of 33 faculty members, plus 22 joint and 7 adjunct faculty, 30 staff, and 110 graduate students. We offer undergraduate majors in Physics, Physics (Intensive), Physics & Philosophy, Mathematics & Physics, and Astronomy & Physics; a hallmark of the undergraduate experience is the opportunity to do cutting-edge research with Yale faculty. We offer graduate study in Astrophysics, Atomic/Molecular/Optical Physics, Biological Physics, Condensed Matter Physics, High Energy Physics and Nuclear Physics. The Physics Department occupies three buildings on the Yale campus: the Sloane Physics Laboratory, J.W. Gibbs Laboratories, and the Wright Nuclear Structure Laboratory.
