YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly

We seek to provide a platform for life-long learning. While there are many incredible benefits from the recent boom in social technology, most would agree relationships have suffered. We aspire to become the place where one can recapture the joy of interpersonal relationships in the wonder of God’s creation. Our goal is to equip people of all ages not only for success in a global society, but for a well-balanced life in spirit, mind and body.

When Dr. Weatherford founded Blue Ridge, he did so based on five guiding principles that we still follow:

* Serving others and honoring the dignity of labor are the highest forms of leadership.
* Personal responsibility for one’s development and behavior is central to achieving our God given potential.
* Faith is the foundation to living a values-based life.
* All people are created in the image of God and are worthy of love and respect.
* We believe that to be in relationship with others, it is important to be in relationship with our Creator and there is no better place to be in communion with Him than in the beauty of his Creation.

These principles are incorporated into our cause and plans for the future; they provide a strong foundation for growth and a value system from which to take our next steps.
