Our headquarters and primary manufacturing facility is located on a half-million-square-foot campus in Gainesville, Texas (just one hour north of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex) and we recently added an 80,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in Chihuahua, Mexico.
Since our founding, Weber Aircraft has produced more than 1 Million passenger seats for all types of aircraft. In fact, we are pleased that we maintain an industry leading market position on numerous aircraft types including the soon to enter revenue service Boeing B787 Dream Liner! The company is proud that our list of current customers contains virtually every one of the world’s most recognized airlines!
A Legacy of Patented Innovation
Weber Aircraft LLC holds and continues to file for many patents on innovative design features and advancements in our industry. This legacy of innovation includes: unique mechanisms; regulatory agency recognized safety features; as well as many items that have increased passenger comfort and living space! This ability to stretch the limits of design while we reduce our seat’s weight - thereby helping our industry to reduce its fossil fuel consumption and the resulting worldwide carbon footprint – continues to demonstrate to our customer’s that Weber Aircraft is the leader in innovation! Rest assured, that we will continue to improve the passenger seat’s functionality as well as the passenger’s safety while our products exceed the industry’s regulatory requirements! This legacy, this commitment to our industry, has been and will continue to be an integral part of Weber's history.
A Driving Force for Safety
Weber Aircraft was the first manufacturer to successfully design and test aircraft seats to meet the Federal Aviation Administration’s first Technical Standard Order (TSO) C127 certification for meeting the 16G standard. All of Weber’s aircraft seats are now designed, fully tested and certified to meet the 16G and Head Impact Criteria (HIC) that is required today.
Weber’s commitment to safety goes beyond design. The company maintains its own fully equipped testing and certification facility at our headquarters. This facility has achieved several industry “firsts” with its advances in safety and certification testing and the facility as well as the people that run it, are fully approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to perform and document this testing.
In addition to the structural testing our seats undergo, each Weber seat design is also tested in many, many ways to ensure long-term structural strength and reliability. This testing is considered among the most rigorous in the industry. These tests include, but are not limited too:• Cycle testing of all moving parts and attachments
• Abuse testing of arms, backs, tray tables, and video arms
• AS8049 and ARP-5526 standard loading procedures
• Complete flammability as well as heat release, smoke density, and toxicity testing of all non-metallic parts used on our seats
A “Lean” Manufacturing Environment
Weber Aircraft’s reputation for product quality and customer satisfaction is built upon more than seventy years of experience in aircraft seat manufacturing. It is a reputation built on a relentless commitment to innovation and efficiency. This reputation for excellence is stronger than ever thanks to our ongoing lean manufacturing advances which are continually being integrated into Weber’s manufacturing operations.
A company-wide culture of working “lean” is now permeating every aspect of our company as we look for ways to improve our operation from the sales cycle to design effort and from supply chain through manufacturing to the after-market support. This focus provides benefits every day and translates into many positives for our customers: Weber meets deadlines, adheres to commitments, and delivers on promises, every day, with every seat it builds.
