1st Impressions has been a staple on the Westside since 2000, however, the original owner, Kathy Porras started at R.S. Houston and then embarked on her own salon which became 1st Impressions. Kathy decided to sell the business a few years ago to concentrate on her clients and family.

LuAnn Wieland purchased the salon in November of 2016 after retiring from United Blood Services as their marketing director. LuAnn, although not a hair stylist, has been both a nail and hair client for many years at the salon. She has been employed by United Blood Services for the last 7 years and before that the YMCA for 11 years as a marketing director as well as fund development VP. Recently retired from United Blood Services, she decided this would be a great retirement project. Employing the help of Ernie Gluck ( another client) and his company GENECO, inc., the salon was totally remodeled in January of 2017 and looks like a brand new shop!

1st Impressions boasts 6 stylists and 2 stylists/ nail techs with an accumulated total of 193 years in the business! All the stylist and nail techs at the salon are independent and make their own appointments, although persons interested may call the salon number and leave a message and it will be directed to the correct person. Although appointments are recommended, walk ins are welcome and will be taken by the stylist or nail tech available.
