More about A Great Yarn

PREMIER KNITTING PRODUCTS

Knitters are “fiber artists”. To fuel their creative passion, we feature the finest traditional fibers together with the most unique accessories and the latest products, patterns and designs.

We are blessed with a great staff of knitting consultants. Bring us your knitting challenges and together we’ll find an answer. The first 15 minutes of consultation is always on us!

Knitting can be intimidating, but not A Great Yarn. We offer a friendly non-judgemental experience, whether you have been making sweaters and socks for fifty years, or whether you have never picked up a pair of knitting needles.

We have classes for every level from beginners to experts, and during the summer will have lessons for children. Check out the Calendar Page for upcoming classes.

QUALITY NEW AND USED BOOKS

There are few experiences like being lost in a your craft…or a great book. Books transport you into your imagination, and keep you there until the very last page.

We highlight a different author or topic every month, ranging from “The Best of Elmore Leonard” to “Focus on Forensics” to “Greatest Opening Lines”.

While we do carry some collectible books, at A Great Yarn we focus on books that people will want to buy and read, whether it’s the best summer books for the beach, or this year’s finalists for the Pulitzer Prize.

A Great Yarn has cozy window seats where customers can sit and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea while they sample our book offerings.

WE LOVE MAKING NEW FRIENDS

We are also happy to host your yarn or book club in our meeting space. We’ll even provide food and beverages for your first meeting.

And drop by on Saturday mornings for our weekly “Knit-arounds,” where you’re invited to join your fellow knitters over a cup of coffee or tea and learn from each other.
