A Thread Runs Thru It

I lost my first pregnancy on September 29, 2013, when our first son, Logan Forrest, was born with his angel wings. Logan was stillborn at only 19 weeks gestation. He was 10-inches long, weighed a tiny 10 ounces and he was perfectly healthy. We lost him due to complications that led to my diagnosis of cervical insufficiency, or an incompetent cervix. He was our first baby, we had prayed for him for so long. His passing utterly broke our hearts.

That Christmas my mom made our first angel baby keepsake in memory of our Logan – it was made into a special memorial ornament for our Christmas tree. It meant so much to us, and still does – it hangs on our tree every year.

I loved my angel baby ornament so much that I asked my mom to teach me and we began creating them for grieving parents around the world who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, SIDS, neonatal loss, pregnancy loss, infant loss - or any form of baby loss.

Sculpting these remembrance keepsakes and memorial ornaments has helped me so much in healing from my own loss. It helps me to cope by being able to bring just a tiny bit of comfort to other parents and families who are grieving the loss of a baby and older loved ones too.
