The Abbeville Panthers have won 14 state championships, most recently 2016 in Basketball.FootballAbbeville is best known for its football program, which has won seven state titles: 1971, 1981, 1991, 1996, 2010, 2011, and 2015. The Panther football team is currently coached by Jamie Nickles, who took over the program in 2004 after the death of longtime coach Dennis Botts. Nickles currently has a career record of 119-38 and has led the team to state titles in 2010, 2011, and 2015.
