Abundant Faith Baptist Church

">Abundant Faith Baptist Church began when a group of Christian men and women gathered together for a prayer meeting and decided to form a new church on November 8, 2012, at the Scenic Woods Library on Seneca Street in Houston, TX. Everyone had an opportunity to speak and say what the Lord had laid on their hearts. It was decided that we needed to select a church name. Members present came up with names that they thought would be for the church. The names were recorded. The church clerk, collected and researched the names to assure the availability. The meeting was successful and it was decided that another meeting would be held meet at the Scenic Woods Library on November 16, 2012.

On November 16, 2012, the meeting was called to order by Bro. Hollis Walls. Unfortunately, Scenic Woods Library Building was closed but this did not stop or deter this committed group of Christians. The decision was made to have the meeting in the library parking lot. There were twenty-four individuals present.

The available names for the new church were presented and voted on. The name Abundant Faith Baptist Church received the highest number of votes and was accepted by the members as the new name for the church.

The next step was finding a pastor to lead this new congregation. Thus, a committee was formed for the selection of a pastor. This committee was successful in finding suitable candidates and guiding the selection process. On April 21, 2013, Rev. Brian Scott, preached his first sermon as Pastor of Abundant Faith Baptist Church.
