According to Sykes

John Sykes, for nearly three decades, has worked within the metropolitan Chicago area helping to build on the strengths of families and communities since the mid 80’s. John developed many skills and talents as a direct service and executive leaderships roles in non-profit organizations. John has managed community mental health centers, residential treatment facilities, and drop-in youth centers. John is an adjunct lecturer in the University of Chicago's School of Social Service Administration.

John works to create safety in the therapeutic environment. John believes that working with the client and their family system is essential to good treatment results. John has training in Trauma Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral approaches and methods. John is trained as play therapist and has worked with children and adolescent impacted by abuse and neglect.
