Acts Metro

We desire to empower families in 5 core areas: Basic Needs, Relationally, Financially, Emotionally and Spiritually.

Basic Needs: When a family enters Acts Metro, they are in crisis. We help stabilize them with bill assistance and referrals to local and federal social service programs. We work with our families to have adequate food, a job, a stable living environment, reliable transportation and all the things that are necessary to accomplish these tasks.

Relationally - We find that crisis isolates our families. The often feel like they are going through their issues alone. We pair each of our families up with a mentor that will walk with them for a year. The mentor becomes the key touch point for Acts Metro with each family. We also have several fun events each year that allow our families opportunities to interact with each other in a safe, fun environment.

Financially - Each of our families receive budgeting assistance, regardless how much is coming in, so they can learn how to manage their money wisely. If they are unemployed or under-employed, we assist them in resume writing and job interviewing. We have also provided several parents educational assistance so they can advance their careers.

Emotionally - Crisis affects the inside of us too. Once life slows down, we desire each of our families to meet with a counselor to help unpack what's going on inside them. If we can help change a family's personal and relational patterns, this better empowers them for long term life change.

Spiritually - As a faith based organization, we desire all our families to grasp a higher purpose for their lives and get involved in a faith community. Mentors are encouraged to share their personal faith journeys with their families and be a resource for spiritual dialogue. The hope provided by having a personal relationship with a good God can empower us to stand firm in the face of difficult challenges.
