Ada ; ; is a village in Hardin County, Ohio, United States. The 2010 census counted 5,952 people. It is the home of Ohio Northern University.HistoryAda was originally called Johnstown, and under the latter name was platted in 1853 by S. M. Johnson when the railroad was extended to that point. Ada became the name of the community's post office, after the postmaster's daughter, Ada. A post office called Ada has been in operation since 1854.
