Adam Lightcap for Magisterial District Judge

Mr. Adam P. Lightcap is announcing his bid for candidacy for District Court Magistrate 40-3-01 (Clymer) in the 2017 Election cross filing in Republican and Democratic parties.

Adam is lifelong resident of Northern Indiana County with roots in the Home and Clymer Areas. At only 37 years of age, Mr. Lightcap has already devoted over 20 years of service to this community. At the age of 15, Adam was one of the first officers of the Air Force JrROTC program at Marion Center Jr/Sr High School. That same year he also became a Jr fire fighter with the Marion Center Vol. Fire Co. After moving to Clymer, Adam graduated from Penns Manor Jr/Sr High School, where he was active in the FFA. During this time Adam also began his tenure with the Clymer Vol. Fire Co.

Adam proudly served our country from 1998-2004 as a Combat Medic in the PA Army National Guard, before being Honorably discharged. While serving our country, Adam was also working on his Bachelor’s degree and launched his fist campaign for the position of PA State Constable. He was successfully elected for 2 terms. While a PA State Constable, Adam served all 4 Indiana County Magisterial District Courts, as well as many Indiana attorneys, The Public Defender's Office, and Tax Assessment Office, until 2013. As PA State Constable, Adam worked alongside the Pennsylvania State Police, Indiana County Sheriff’s Department, local law enforcement, and other state constables.

Adam obtained his BA in Criminology with a minor in Political Science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2007. Adam remained involved at IUP, returning to educate students on the role of the Pennsylvania State Constable in the judicial system.

Adam was employed by Indiana County as a 911 dispatcher from 2007-2013. In 2010 he also began working as an EMT for Citizens’ Ambulance Service. In 2012, Adam successfully completed the Citizens’ Ambulance Paramedic program and obtained his Nationally Registered Paramedic certification. He has also obtained his Pa Department of Health EMS Instructor certification, and serves as an instructor at IUP Institute for Rural Health and Safety.

While Adam has worked incredibly hard to build a solid community based career, he has always made time for the fire service. Adam has remained an active member of the Clymer Vol. Fire Co. He has served as Jr fire fighter advisor, a fire captain, member of the board of directors, vice president, and president.

Adam is also a member of the Clymer Slovak Club and the American Legion Post 141. As a Legion member, he is a part of the America Legion Riders, Black Horse Chapter. Adam and his wife Nichole attend the Clymer United Methodist Church. They reside in Green Township with their 2 spoiled black labs, Magnolia and Tank.
