More about Adamsville Community Baptist Church

Adamsville is a congregation of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ who have assembled as a local church to exalt and magnify our great and mighty God. He has called us to do this by building up one another in the faith and knowledge of our Lord. He has also commissioned us to make disciples of all nations, proclaiming the good news of salvation from sin, death, and hell, that can only be found through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. The cornerstone of our Church is Jesus Christ. Our highest authority is His inerrant word, the Bible, and we are passionately committed to its joyful proclamation and careful application.

Our goal in all things is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and to see His will accomplished both in and through us.

All are welcome to join us for Sunday worship starting at 9:30 AM, followed by Sunday School for all ages starting at 11:15.

Doctrinal Statement

a. We believe there is only one God, eternally existing as a trinity in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe the one in three are equal in every divine perfection, and they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence and redemption. (Genesis 1:1-2:25, Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19-20, 2 Corinthians 13:14, Isaiah 44:6 with Revelation 1:4-18)
b. We believe that this God has given us His word in the Bible, and that the Bible is the very word of God, verbally inspired, always true and never false in all that it affirms. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:19-21)
c. We believe in the Deity of Christ, His virgin birth to Mary as begotten by the Holy Spirit, His bloodshed for atonement, His bodily resurrection, His ascension into heaven, and His promised return. (Matthew 1:16, 18, 21, 25, John 1:1, 14, 14:1-6, 20:28, Acts 1:1-11, Philippians 2:5-11)
d. We believe in the Deity of the Holy Spirit who convicts of sin, makes believers children of God through the new birth, assures them of Heaven, and by His indwelling enables Christians to live a Godly life. (John 16:8-11, 1 Corinthians 12:12-14, Galatians 5:16-26, Ephesians 1:13-14, 4:30)
e. We believe that humanity was created directly in the image of God, by the act of God in divine creation. We believe that all men are by nature and choice sinful and lost, and have within themselves no possible means of salvation. (Genesis 1:26-27, Genesis 3, Psalm 51:5, Romans 3:23, 5:12, 6:23)
f. We believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice: and all who believe in Jesus by faith are rescued from condemnation by having Jesus’ righteousness imputed on them and are reconciled to God by being made sons and daughters of grace. Salvation is the free gift of God, not by any virtue or works of man, but received only by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation by faith in Jesus promises abundant life, eternal life, resurrection from death and an eternal hope. (John 1:12-13, 3:16, Acts 4:12, Romans 3:21-26, 4:4-5, 5:1-11, 10:9-10, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Ephesians 1:7, 2:8-10, Titus 3:5, 1 Peter 1:18-19, 2:24)
g. We believe in the existence of Satan, the deceiver and god of this present world; that he was defeated and judged at the cross, and therefore his final doom is certain. (Genesis 3:1, Job 1:7, Isaiah 14:12-17, Ezekiel 28:11-19, Ephesians 6:12-18, Colossians 2:15)
h. We believe in the second coming of Christ; that His return from Heaven will be personal, visible and glorious. (John 14:3, Acts 1:11, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-5:11, Titus 2:11-13, 1 John 3:2-3)
i. We believe that the spirits of the saved at death go immediately to be with Christ in Heaven; that at His second coming their works will be judged and rewards determined; that the spirits of the unsaved at death descend immediately into Hades until the final day of judgment, at which time their bodies shall be raised from the grave, that they shall be judged and cast into Hell, the place of final and everlasting punishment. (Isaiah 9:6-7, 1 Corinthians 15:1-57, 2 Thessalonians 1:5-12, Revelation 20:1-15)
j. We believe in the priesthood of all believers, that Christ is our great high priest and through Him every born again person has direct access to God’s presence without the need of a human priest; that the believer has the right and the responsibility to personally study and interpret the Scriptures guided by the Holy Spirit.
k. We believe that a New Testament Church is an organized body of born again baptized believers, with Christ as their head, practicing Scriptural principles and actively engaged in fulfilling the great commission. (Acts 2:42-47, Ephesians 4:1-16, Hebrews 10:19-25)
l. We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ has committed two sacraments (non-salvific) to the local church: baptism and the Lord’s Supper, to be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus. We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the triune God. We believe that the Lord’s Supper was instituted by Christ for remembrance of His death. (Matthew 3:6, 28:19-20, Acts 8:36-39, 1 Corinthians 11:23-24)
