The Adirondack Philosophy Forum is a monthly gathering at the Crandall Library in Glens Falls, NY (unless otherwise announced). We meet on the third Saturday of every month from 3-5PM.
When the forum commences there will be a brief introduction from the moderator followed by two or three lectures. After the lectures will be a formal moderated debate. The debate format is as follows:
◉ Moderator introduces the debate topic and the spokespersons for the two opposing positions.
◉ The audience may vote their position.
◉ Each side will get fifteen minutes to introduce their argument.
◉ Each side will get a five minute rebuttal period.
◉ Audience will be asked to posit questions for one or both sides.
◉ Both sides will get to ask four questions alternately and directly to the opposing side.
◉ Audience questions will be asked by the moderator.
◉ Each side will get ten minutes to make a conclusory statement.
◉ Audience members who voted will revote and results will be announced by moderator.
◉ Forum concluded.
