ADK P TECH

Welcome to ADK P-TECH.
ADK P-TECH is a STEM based school founded on the principles of Manufacturing, Design, and Engineering. This innovative and rigorous program involves students in project and problem based learning in an exploration of STEM subjects with a continued focus on engineering and design concepts. Students have the unique opportunity to work with Manufacturing and Design Industry professionals in the classroom, with Mentors, and tours of area businesses.
ADK P-TECH, located on the Peru High School campus, is a school within a school format. Students who choose to participate in athletics will be eligible to play in their home districts according to home district guidelines. In addition, ADK P-TECH offers students the opportunity to join after school clubs as well as participate in music instruction including band and string lessons, and chorus on the Peru Campus.
ADK P-TECH, starting in grade 9 and continuing through grade 14, offers students a pathway to a full Regents curriculum, high school diploma, and an Applied Associate’s Degree through Clinton Community College, all at no cost to the family. Students may choose one of seven degree pathways: Mechanical Technology, Electrical Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Technology, Environmental Technology, Wind Energy and Turbine Technology, and Renewable Energy Technologies. Throughout the program, students will have the opportunity to job shadow and participate in Industry Internships. Upon graduation, students will be guaranteed an interview for possible full time employment with one of the ADK P-TECH Industry partners connected to the school.
Some other unique features of ADK P-TECH are:
• Each student will be teamed with a Mentor currently aligned with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Design within our community.
• ADK P-TECH offers a complete NYS Standards-based education leading to a Regents Diploma. The curriculum is delivered in a project-based, non-traditional environment.
• Each student will participate in Job Shadowing Experiences & Internships with local businesses and manufacturers.
• ADK P-TECH offers a Young Women in STEM Club to encourage all interested people to explore careers in STEM.
• Students have the opportunity to participate in Music Lessons, Chorus, and Drama through Peru High School.
• Students will have access to enrichment opportunities through our college partners including Clinton Community College and Clarkson University, including Field Trips, access to Fitness Center and Library, and college advisement services.
