Adoration Church

Whether you're actively looking for a Church, are new to this Christian thing, haven't been to church in a while, or are just checking us out we want you to know that Adoration Church is a place where anyone is welcome wherever you are in your walk. The short of it is that we believe following the message of Jesus Christ is all about forgiveness and redemption and that the church is a place where we should have a family where we can be open and honest in our short falls and receive teaching and encouragement as we live out our lives together.

We do feel it's important to put some more detail into what we believe and you can find that here. There are some big themes that can be a little heavy and deep. Don't let it intimidate you. If you have questions or desire deeper understanding Pastor Matt would be happy to meet with you.
n Isaiah 43, God states with wondrous clarity that we have been created, formed and made for His glory so that we would proclaim His praises.

In 1 Peter 2:9 we read, "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light." Here Peter affirms that we are made to worship, to declare the praises of God as revealed in Jesus Christ.

As such, we believe that worship is not a stepping stone to something greater, but that worship is an end in itself. It is what we are created for and it is our highest aim and greatest joy.

The goal of the church then is the worship of God to the praise of His glory. In this way, worship gives birth to mission. As John Piper has stated well, “Missions exist because worship doesn’t.”

As such, every other ministry is not an end in itself but is designed to move our hearts to the genuine worship of God in Christ Jesus, that He may be adored in all the earth. For this reason, we take serious the privilege and responsibility of leading others into worship.

In Matthew 15 Jesus Himself warns against vain worship that proceeds from a divided heart. Our great desire is to have our visible praise collide with a heart that is joyfully surrendered to the Lordship of Christ that unleashes worship that glorifies God.

Our aim is to ever exalt and point to Jesus Christ who is our worship and our worship leader, apart from whom true worship does no exist.

We Believe…

1.The Bible is God’s Word and therefore, it is true, authoritative and sufficient. It is the supreme source of truth for mankind and is to be the rule of faith and life.

2. There is only one true and living God, Creator of heaven and earth, who eternally exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, each equally deserving of worship and obedience.

(Genesis 1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

3. In God the Father, as the first Person of the Trinity, who sovereignly purposes, orders and disposes all things according to the counsel of His own holy and righteous will.

(Genesis 1; Psalm 90:2; Ephesians 1:11)

4. In God the Son, Jesus Christ, as the second person of the trinity who possesses all the divine attributes and is coequal with the Father. He is both fully God and fully human. Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of mankind, was buried, rose from the grave three days later and ascended into heaven. Jesus will return again to earth in bodily form to reign as King of kings and Lord of lords.

5. In God the Holy Spirit, as the third person of the trinity, who possesses all the divine attributes and is coequal with the Father and the Son. He makes men aware of their desperate need for the person and work of Jesus Christ. He is the power that raised Jesus from the dead and lives inside every genuine believer God brings to salvation. He gives the believer the power for living the life we were created to live unto the glory of God; thereby reversing the brokenness of sin’s curse and cultivating within the heart of the believer God’s love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. He gives each believer a gift(s) to be used to edify Christ’s church and glorify God. We seek to live in the Spirit, under His rule daily.

6. That all things exist for the glory of God. The ultimate end of all God’s works in creation and redemption is His glory alone.

7. That man is made in the image of God and is the pinnacle of God’s glorious creation. We believe that all mankind fell in the sin of the first man, Adam, and that all men are sinners both by birth and by practice. We sit under the rightful penalty for our sin which is physical and spiritual death. We are in desperate need of salvation, but can do nothing to merit such a great salvation.

8. Salvation is wholly of God by grace on the basis of the person and work of Jesus Christ, the merit of His life, death and resurrection. Salvation is not on the basis of human merit or works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ and His necessary, complete and sufficient work on the cross where He fully paid sin’s penalty and absorbed the righteous wrath of God are we saved. By faith we are clothed in the righteousness of Christ and declared righteous in God’s sight. This trusting is accomplished through repentance and faith, a turning from self-rule and self-sufficiency to Christ for salvation and Lordship. All who call on the name of the Lord will be saved.

9. That there will be a future physical resurrection of the dead upon Christ’s return and that all persons will spend eternity in one of two places. Those who have died without turning to Jesus in faith and repentance will be raised to spend eternity separated from God in Hell. Separation from God is Hell. Only those who have turned from sin to Jesus in faith and repentance will be raised to spend eternity with God in heaven. To know God and be eternally united with Him is eternal life.
