ALCA Experts can help...

--Conduct care-planning assessments to identify problems, eligibility for assistance, and need for services.
--Screen, arrange, and monitor in-home help or other services.
--Assist with moving a senior person into or from a retirement complex, care home, or nursing home.
--Act as a liaison to families at a distance, making sure things are going well and alerting families to problems.
--Review financial, legal, or medical issues and offer referrals to appropriate specialists to avoid future problems and conserve assets.
--Provide crisis intervention.
--Counsel and support (some provide psychotherapy)
--Explain the spectrum of available housing and care options, and facilitate transitions
--Educate the community
--Advocate for the elder consumer.
--Offer one time or continuing counseling and support.
--Provide services on a fee-for-service basis.

Members:
The association includes professionals representing themselves or a company doing business in the field of geriatric care management. ALCA members assist older persons and their families to cope with the challenges of aging. Most ALCA Experts have master's degree level training in gerontology, social work, nursing or counseling.

Meetings:
Aging Life Care Association™ New England Chapter members meet monthly (except in July and August) for professional development, organizational business and to network with others in the field.
