AkaMya

The Aka-Mya Cultural Group was formed in 1998 by Sage Romero. After graduating from the Santa Fe Indian High School in Santa Fe New Mexico Sage along with family members and Tanya Montes started a small group which met weekly to provide a safe and healthy place for community to gather, practice, and strengthen their cultural identity.
AkaMya has come from humble beginnings into what it is today. We provide cultural presentations, sound system set up and control, fund raising support, community organizing and volunteering services amongst many other things. Utilizing the strength and discipline taught to us through traditional song and dance, we work hard for the wellness of our communities.
