Akron Comicon

VENDORS — Akron Comicon is a comic-book convention therefore any non-comic products sold should not exceed 30% of the overall exhibitor presentation. Products to be sold include: newspaper comics and comic-books and any related items and collectibles.

MEDIA GUESTS — Akron Comicon is not a media event. We are a comic convention. Any media guests that appear at our show must represent characters originating from comics or have become an ongoing comic book (i.e. Star Trek, Star Wars).

COSPLAYERS — We encourage fans to dress as their favorite comic characters. We ask that all costumes worn to the show be suitable for a family event.

Cancelation Policy — Full refunds on space will be given for cancelations up to October 1, 2016. After this date a 30% refund will be given.

Ethics And Sales Policy — Only licensed items may be sold (no bootleg items). Exhibitors are legally responsible for all products sold. Taxes, license and insurance are the responsibility of exhibitor.

Moral Mission — Akron Comicon LLC discourages the sale of “adult material” and asks all exhibitors to promote their product responsibly. It is our intention to promote this show as a family friendly event.

Payment Method — All payments are to be made through our PayPal link.

Table And Space Rental Policy — No exhibitor may change, sub-rent or add to the space rented at the Akron Comicon. All Vendors must maintain a full set up to the end of the convention.

Setup & Restock -- The show will take place at the John S. Knight Convention Center. Entry for unloading and setup is at the rear of the convention center (off S. Broadway). Exhibitor parking is free and the lot is across the street between S. Broadway and Summit Streets. The JSKCC will be providing porters to assist you.

● Friday setup is from 11am to 4pm. We all must be out of the building on Friday by 4pm due to a private event.
● Saturday setup is from 7-9:45am. Doors open for patrons at 10am and close at 6pm.
● Sunday restock time is from 8-10:45am. Doors open for patrons at 11am and close at 4pm.
● The John S. Knight Center requires everyone to be out of the building by 7:30pm Sunday.

Re: Akron Comicon Logo -- The Akron Comicon logo is based on Ira Schnapp's design for "Action Comics" with a nod to a childhood favorite, "The Avengers" (a latter version of the "A"). Ira was a logo designer for DC Comics. He also designed the Comics Code Authority seal in 1955. He was born on October 10, 1892 and died at the age of 76 in July of 1969. This logo pays homage to Ira, DC Comics, and to the superhero that started it all: Superman!
