Albany 518 SNUG

Our goal is to work with individuals associated with violence and to work in neighborhoods that are disproportionately affected by violence. The Albany 518 SNUG team provides proactive intervention for gang activity or at risk youth within the city of Albany. Albany 518 SNUG mentors and directs youth into making better decisions that will aid in a healthy lifestyle. We work to build relationships, gather information, and mediate conflicts that prevent violence. Additionally, they respond to violent assaults and shootings while working with the community to create safe neighborhoods. This unique approach is intended to resurrect and reestablish within the community a truer sense of humanity and thereby promote the principles that every life is precious and every person regardless of age, race, color, culture, education or social status is valued and has an innate right to live in a safe and secure environment.
