Our county surrounds the City of Charlottesville and the University of Virginia and includes a wide variety of protection demands from residential to industrial. The fire and rescue system consist of 6 fire stations, 4 rescue stations, and 4 combination stations with 500 volunteers and 110 career staff. We answer around 14,000 calls for service each year
