Alive Student Ministry

Here at Mt. Vernon we desire for the youth of south Mississippi to grow into complete people; grounded in Christ, free from the opinions of the world, and passionately pursuing their purpose in God. Our society has become a place of constant movement from one thing to another; however, we desire for our teens to see that God is not a part of life, but He is the source of life: “Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.” We seek God’s face daily and walk in His footsteps. So come be a part of Alive Student Ministries there is always something going on— whether it is going to a concert, riding towards a mystery destination, going crazy at a 5th quarter, or just relaxing in the youth room. We welcome everyone who stops in, and we pray that you will see God’s love expressed when you come.

The church is not the place for legalism nor is it a country club, it is a place where we love unconditionally and worship intimately. Hannah and I pray till our knees hurt and love till bruises show up for our youth! We love each and every person that steps through our doors, and we pray that they will love all those that they come in contact with.

We have three different places to plug in:

Identity: Grades 6-9th. We meet on Wednesday nights at 7, doors open at 6:15.

Awaken: Grades 10-12th. We meet on Sunday nights at 5.

Reality: Ages 18-25. We meet on Tuesday nights at 6.
