Follow these simple tips and suggestions and you will enjoy your tattoo's appearance for many years to come. Your new tattoo is an open wound and vulnerable to infection so don't give in to the temptation to begin showing it off. You can remove the bandage after 5 hours and make sure you keep it clean by washing the area with antibacterial soap. After you wash the tattoo, carefully pat your skin dry and do not rub! Apply a generous amount of cocoa butter or lotion like Lubriderm that has no fragrance. This will keep your skin moisturized and allow the area to quickly heal.
