All Things Sweet – A touch of HOME…

Do you remember that smell...

You know the one when your mom was baking your favorite treat in the oven – that sweet, sugary, never forgotten smell of a fresh desert after dinner? I remember coming in after school to the sweet smell of cinnamon, tart, and cake batter – Grandma made coffee cake!!

When you’re young, it is hard to understand what those smells will mean later in life. To be HOME, to feel cozy, welcomed, and cared about… In today’s fast paced world of technology and apps – family traditions are hard to find and “homemade” just isn’t homemade anymore…

When I came into my husband and stepchildren’s life, I finally had someone to begin traditions with, to give the feeling of HOME to. Early on, we all bonded over burnt cookies – failed cake attempts – and some of our best creations to. We made reasons to bake together. Our excuses to be together, turned into our traditions. Birthdays became all about the cake rather than the presents, holidays were all about being together and what we were baking…

As the cakes and dinners became more frequent, family and friends began requesting me to bake for them and plan their parties. What was initially a family tradition and a few favors, became a hobby. Later that hobby evolved to become my passion. That passion is now my business - All Things Sweet!
