Alleghany Community Auditorium

In the beginning of 2010, the Friends of the Alleghany Community Auditorium were charged with managing the renovation of the old Sparta School Auditorium. We have successfully completed Phase I, in which we made the building fit to use. The exterior was cleaned and sealed, the interior painted, new curtains were hung, the roof replaced, and the atrocious stage addendum was removed. It was replaced with a proper stage apron, which was fully donated by our community partners. As we start with Phase II, we are using the ACA as a concert venue to raise money to replace our audio/visual systems, and to enjoy the facility. When we look forward, we see Phase III as being a new public entrance with bathrooms, a box office, concessions, and other work backstage.
