As the newest urgent care clinic in town, UFirst can provide an alternative to hospital ER visits for non-life or limb-threatening medical conditions. These include, but are not limited to the following:
• Acne and other skin rashes
• Respiratory symptoms from various causes, such as asthma, flu, bronchitis or other upper respiratory infections
• Acute back pain and other muscle sprains
• Minor burns, boils, and skin infections
• Poorly controlled diabetes
• Gastrointestinal symptoms such as heart burn, nausea, and diarrhea
• Animal bites
• Ear complaints such as ear pain, discharge, or infection
• Non-limb threatening injuries such as those to the hands or fingers, foot sprain, or fractures
• Foot problems such as fungi and ingrown toenail
• Sore throat and other mouth pain
• Bladder infections
• Lacerations
Within the new urgent clinic, a new state of the art x-ray machine is installed to help diagnose bone pains caused by injuries such as fractures, and respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia and sinusitis.
A full laboratory is located in the same building where arrangements have been made to make results available on the same visit. These results include:
• Thyroid panel
• Liver panel
• Kidney panel
• Cholesterol
• Diabetes panel
An in-house lab will provide pregnancy testing, urinalysis, and screening for strep infection, flu, and blood sugar.
Treatments available include injection and IV fluid for dehydration.
The clinic is equipped to perform minor surgical procedures as treatment for the following:
• Incision and drainage of abscess
• Ingrown toenail
• Removal of foreign bodies
• Laceration repairs
• Reduction of minor dislocation
• Treatment of non-limb threatening burns
• Emergency treatment of sprains
• Splinting and casting
• Intra-articular injections
• Trigger point injections
