Founded in 1973 , American Black Belt Academy has been located at 2209 Michigan Avenue in Arlington, Texas since 1985. It is one of the oldest free-standing martial arts schools in America and continues to teach traditional martial arts- self-defense, forms, and fighting.

American Black Belt Academy was built from the ground up with a state of the art work out floor designed especially for martial arts training.

Mr. Steve Schultz and Mr. Wade Nelson are the owners of the school and follow in the teachings of Grandmaster Roy Kurban. Following the same great traditions, American Black Belt Academy will continue to turn out the finest martial artists in the world.

The traditions passed down to the black belts will continue at American Black Belt Academy. A founding member of the Texas Karate League, American Black Belt Academy of Arlington, Texas will continue to focus on self-defense, top-level tournament competition and the tenets of Taekwondo.
