American Mortem Photography

A large amount of my photographs are rendered in a soft focus, impressionistic, style, to accentuate the ephemeric, painterly, qualities of time worn or temporary beauty.
My passion for all things old, abandoned ,forgotten and haunted stems partially from my extreme distaste for the american culture's propensity for all things disposable.
I believe in preservation. I am a rememberer....if you will. Placed here to salvage and extricate the past.....to bring it back....in all of it's glorious decay.
I desire to put it in your face , so that you too won't forget.
And so I photograph that which calls to me and that which needs to be remembered.
And even if you only see beautiful pictures and even if you do not feel the magnitude of histories and energies as i do....its ok....I've still accomplished what I've come here to do.
For what has been seen can not be unseen.
And what has become known can not become unknown...
