Anointed Feet Dance School

Kanisha Bennett...Educator, Performer, Choreographer, Motivator, was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA and began dancing as a liturgical dancer. She holds a Bachelors of Arts in Dance from the University of California, Riverside and an Masters of Fine Arts in Performance and Choreography from the Florida State University. In 1999, Kanisha founded Generation Xpectation Hip-Hop Dance Company, and served as director and choreographer for 8 years. Kanisha has worked and trained extensively in contemporary/modern, jazz, hip hop and ballet. Mrs. Bennett has conducted contemporary master classes at various colleges and universities, as well as high schools and middle schools throughout the US and abroad, which have invoked her passion for educating students about the art she loves. During the 2010-2011 season, Kanisha performed and toured with the internationally acclaimed dance company Urban Bush Women based out of Brooklyn, NY. Back in Los Angeles with her lovely husband and 2 sons, Kanisha is currently an associate faculty member at Mt San Jacinto Community College, Cal State University Dominquez Hills and coaching the Junior Varsity song team at Bishop Montgomery High school. She is excited to share her experience and love for dance with young people in her own community during this Dance Mix Workshop.
