APA Journals

-APA began its long publishing history with the Proceedings of the American Psychology Association in 1892.

-APA demonstrated its dedication to the dissemination of knowledge in the 1920s with the purchase and launch of two journals, both of which are still leading journals today.

-The 1950s-1970s saw major expansion and specialization in the behavioral and social sciences worldwide; APA began publishing many influential titles, including the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology.

-In 1990, APA created the Educational Publishing Foundation (EPF), a specialty imprint of the American Psychological Association Journals Program to provide innovative publishing services to psychology and the larger behavioral and social sciences community and to support the development of specialized or interdisciplinary journals. The imprint has unique resources and adaptability to support our society publishing partners and developing specialized or interdisciplinary journals.

-In 2001, the launch of PsycARTICLES®, APA’s full-text database, changed the way researchers access and interact with scholarly knowledge.

-Today, APA continues to grow and develop its influential publishing program, which now includes more than 75 top-quality journals in the behavioral and social sciences.
