The Appalachian Ohio Weed Control Partnership (AOWCP) is cooperative weed management area (CWMA) formed on June 26th, 2012. Previously two CWMAs were in the area, the Iron Furnace CWMA and the Southeastern Ohio Non-Native Invasive Species Interest Group. With significant overlaps in membership, goals, and projects the two groups merged to increase the efficiency of the organizations. , agencies, organizations, local governments and concerned citizens working across jurisdictional boundaries to manage invasive plants.The AOWCP is located in 16 counties of southeastern Ohio: Lawrence, Gallia, Jackson, Scioto, Pike, Ross, Hocking, Vinton, Meigs, Athens, Perry, Morgan, Washington, Noble, Monroe, and Muskingum counties.
