Appalachian Wildlife Refuge is a 501c3 nonprofit that coordinates the needs of wildlife rehabilitation in Western North Carolina providing care for injured and orphaned wildlife, support for the wildlife rehabilitation network and conservation education to the community.
Appalachian Wild, incorporated on October 23, 2014, is a volunteer run organization. It was formed in response to increasing numbers of wildlife requiring assistance and the need for more people trained and funded to help them in Western North Carolina.
The WNC Nature Center has been trying to help these animals and support the need in the community for many years. They are no longer able to fill this role and it is urgent that Appalachian Wild get a facility open as soon as possible. Fortunately, a building has been donated to to serve as a wildlife urgent care facility and a campaign started to raise the funds for the needed repairs and renovations!
Help get the doors open! Make a donation, purchase food and supplies from the wishlist, volunteer and spread the word!
