The concept was developed by Todd Haymon; a Lafayette Louisiana native. As quoted by Todd; in today’s business world one must stand out and be different in order for a business to grow.having owned a pet store called Ocean World in downtown Lafayette in the 1980's that focused on tropical fish, I wanted to open another store that catered to all pet enthusiast. as the business grows I will be adding a full line of pet supplies. the stores selection currently consist of wet pets & supplies plus koi pond supplies and aquarium plants.

Being an artist and musician I want to offer the opportunity for local artist to display and sell their art throughout the store. I know our customers will enjoy this different shopping experience while visiting our location.

About the owner: As a young entrepreneur, Todd’s bedroom looked like a pet shop! His hobby grew to include the raising of tropical fish and to sell them to the local pet shops in town. When he was old enough, he took employment at local pet shops and learned the ends and outs about the retail pet business first hand. By the age of 22 he had opened his first successful pet store in downtown Lafayette and hasn’t looked back since. After moving from Lafayette and having the opportunity to live and work throughout United States and Canada, he always found time to keep his hobby of tropical fish keeping alive. Over the years upon visiting local pet stores, he noticed that exciting changes were taking place within the pet industry and he knew he had to be part of it again. After a long and successful career within the corporate world of fortune 500 companies, it was time to revisit this dream and the goal of opening another pet store in his home town.

With a business plan in hand, lots of hard work, a strong determination, sweat equity and many prayers combined with the overwhelming encouragement and help of family and friends; Aquarius Pets was born Sept 2013!
