Archangel Tattoo got its start in 2011 after owner Jim Willoughby decided to leave his successful shop River City Tattoo in Old Sac. He returned to Citrus Heights, where he got his start, so he could provide customers with the most exceptional experience possible. While it has its roots in exotic tribal practices, over the last 3 decades Western tattooing has crossed social boundaries from high class to low class and changed gender power dynamics. In the '80s the clientele for tattoos and piercings changed from sailors and bikers to include middle and upper class. We also saw a shift from badge-like images to full-body tattoos influenced by Polynesian and Japanese tattoo art. There are many reasons people choose to get a piercing, but according to a 2001 survey in Clinical Nursing Research, 62% of people who get pierced do so to express their individuality. He's a graduate of The San Francisco Art Academy with a Bachelors in Fine Art Animation and Visual effects and started his tattoo career in 2007. Juan will collaborate directly with you and has design ideas within seconds of your consult. He's easy going, understanding, and creative.
