Today we ask ourselves, "What is a Delta Gamma?" and I answer:

"She is the essence of femininity. She is a girl who has not quite outgrown her love of racing through the green fields in her bare feet. She piles her hair high on her head and looks like a young Queen. She wears cutoffs and a sweatshirt and looks like a young colt. She wears expensive perfume but she loves her peanut butter sandwiches. She cries at romantic movies, but is dry-eyed when a friend needs her help. She adores soft music and slow dancing but she rocks out at fraternity parties. She smiles with a tear in her eye when someone tells her he loves her, and she sobs when he is gone. She is a young woman, sure of herself, and a girl afraid and unsure. She is a complete and knowledgable being. She knows herself and lets ot...hers know her as a friend, a sister, and helpmate. But she keeps part of herself secret within her, and makes her a true individual. She laughs, cries, and loves her family, for they are all the ones she has taken into her heart. She cherishes her love and keeps secrets locked within her, only to bring them out when another is in need. Perhaps we will answer that she is an inexplicable treasure as we remember with tears in our eyes our last few days as a senior. Or perhaps we will answer with laughter in our voices that she is a delight, a fun-loving gift as we remember the happiness we have shared and the joy. We may answer that she is an intelligent gracious woman, as we remember the hours of study and learning in our college days. She is the girl who wears the golden anchor."
