When someone receives a cancer diagnosis their life is changed! Chaos and worry is often very much present and no one should go it alone.
Cancer care involves much more than one might expect. Oncologists, surgeons and cancer care teams diagnose and treat the disease, but more is needed. Patients, family members, and caregivers face many other issues during their cancer journey. Because of this, AOF focuses on the non-medical, supportive needs of those affected by cancer.
Emotional, psycho-social, image, pain management, side effects, nutrition, and financial challenges are additional areas of distress and worry during cancer treatment and survivorship. Sometimes they are more distressing than surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy treatments. We provide FREE and low-cost programs and services that reduce pain and anxiety, helps psychosocial and emotional difficulties, and decrease financial burdens. Programs are available immediately after diagnosis, through active treatment and all stages of survivorship. Supportive services are essential to improve outcomes and quality of life for cancer patients. Because together is always better, AOF serves those affected by cancer throughout Arizona.
