The Arnold Weightlifting Championships is one of 52 sports and events that make up the Arnold Sports Festival. Held annually in downtown Columbus, OH, the festival hosts more than 18,000 athletes, 180,000 spectators, and 1000 Fitness EXPO booths promoting the latest products and services the industry has to offer. Boasting numbers like these, the Arnold Sports Festival is the largest multi-sport event in the United States.
Olympic Weightlifting has been a part of the Arnold Sports Festival since 2003 and has become one of its most popular events. Not only does the AWC include a wide variety of American lifters every year; it has also hosted many of the best weightlifters in the world, including Olympic gold medalists and World Record holders. In 2012, the Arnold Sports Festival hosted both the US Olympic Team Trials and National Weightlifting Championships on behalf of the United States Olympic Committee and United States Weightlifting Federation, respectively.
