Hello! My name is Tina Rodriguez. I love teaching art and my students are my number one priority. I would love to guide some new students! I graduated from The College of St. Rose with a B.S. in Art Education and I did my graduate work at SUNY Plattsburgh in Curriculum and Instruction. My students individual growth is where my passion for teaching begins and my love of Art and culture is my motivation!

It is my goal to help you discover these 5 truths about art every class:
1. It is a joyful and fun experience.
2. The artist process is similar to nature’s process.
3. You can grow your art skills and be extremely skilled.
4. Art helps us heal wounds and express ourselves.
5. Beauty is truly all about perspective

I aim to create an authentic environment where one can delve in and discover their own creative spark. It is an honor to guide and nurture your growth anyway I can and help you discover your ARTvoice!

Here are a few basic course layouts. I am open and flexible with content, medium, placement and price is definitely negotiable. I want to share my gifts with the world, that is my goal. I look forward to designing a class to suit your needs and bringing the joy of art creation to you!

Portfolio Building Course (students age 14-?)

This 2 session 2 hour long course is designed to help students understand what a college ready portfolio consists of. Students will be introduced to drawing from observation, a process that helps students translate visual perceptions of their world into a two-dimensional drawing. Materials are included in the course price. Students will also be introduced to the process of creative problem solving that is utilized during college admission procedures and art programs.


Find your ARTvoice Studio course (students age 14-?)

This 2 hour studio course is for the interested new student and the skilled expert. The structure of this class will be more based on independent learning. Students can bring in work or come ready to tackle "a problem provided". Pencils, charcoal and paper will be supplied, all other materials are student choice and are welcomed with responsible environmental use. I will guide and provide you with constructive criticism to mold your skills and direct your vision. Students will develop a unique visual language in which vocabulary and presentation skills are built.


Kids Art Class (students age 6-10)

One hour art class. Fun projects for kids that help them explore new media and grasp new skills. Enjoyment and creative exploration is encouraged and embraced. Artist and art history introduced and a guided art project based on the elements and principles of art is discovered and created. Course price includes art materials. Maximum 12 students.

Tiny Kids Art Class (Students age 4-6)

45 minute art class. Fun projects that encourage exploration. Focus will be on texture exploration, fine motor development and color names. Students will be given the tools and support to develop their development. Course price includes art materials. Maximum 6 students.
