More about ARTYEK

ARTYEK it an artist studio/shop located in Sunrise FL,
ART is done by Jean-Claude De L'Herbe, he is a POP/ Urban and Airbrush artist, Painter, Fabricator and Designer, and his apprentice Brian Murray, is a student that is a fully trained Fabricator and Painter, with a wide knowledge on artistic painting airbushing and high quality finishes.

Born in Chile, Jean-Claude, Came to United States on 1992
At an early age he took part of a Chilean variety show called Sabado Gigante, within the show there was a section that included child actors that were part of "gags" or comedy shorts, reaching a high level of recognition in the country as a child star, participating in TV commercial spots and Events like the 1985 Teletón, a charity event held in Chile on a year basis ever since 1978, mostly within the first week December.

He left the tv show to continue with his normal child life, after some years his family moved to Mexico and then to United States, in the area of North Miami Beach, There he experienced with graffiti but always getting in trouble with the law and ending up in jail for reckless driving and trespassing in areas trying to paint walls, he hanged out with many graffiti artist and painted a lot of walls, but soon got a job and got caught up with life and trying to make ends meet.

He started working in clothing stores, and his passion for painting and drawing never died, designing florida embroidery T-shirts, while working many stores in malls and other places.

Until bored and tired of retail he ended up in a Biker store in Fort lauderdale beach.

In 2002 he purchased an Airbrush and started selling T-shirts to tourists in the biker store inside Beach-place mall in Fort Lauderdale Beach, within a couple of weeks he was invited to collaborate with The Florida Panthers on a piece of artwork that was signed by the team of that year to be auctioned by the United Way of Broward county on an event for children success in the Nova University building, his artwork was showcased and auctioned next to art by Guy Harvey and Romero Britto.

He quit the beach store, in a way of a free falling move, letting all boundaries go, and dedicating his life to create art, trying to make a profit out of it, starting in the booming motorcycle business that was growing thanks by many tv shows, he found himself right in the middle of the whole action, with nearly no experience or portfolio, a love for the art and a hunger for survival, he started selling his artwork by word of mouth, one customer at a time, became part of a Motorcycle shop called Dragon Motorcycles, given a job just because their painter and artist had just walked out, with an airbrush and a dream he started creating very unique motocycle paint jobs.

It was not long until he has given a full paint-job on a bike build, for customer Luis Vega, hungry for the desire to create a unique award winning paint job on a most unique transformation of a yamaha motorcycle turned chopper he worked many hours with Luis and his wife, creating and amazing look that combined with and amazing build took first place on the GOTHAM CITY BIKE SHOW on board of the USS ENTERPRISE AIRCRAFT CARRIER that is docked in the city of New York.
The first place took the bike to the upper level of the carrier for a photo shoot and a spread on Road-bike magazine, telling the whole story.

After this Jean-Claude realized that he had a gift for this art and went back to his shop, and worked harder on his quality of art taking help and information of many painters and paint companies, but mostly had the opportunity to meet SONNY DE PALMA, an airbrush artist of many years of experience that gave him enough information and techniques that elevated his level of delicacy and attention to detail, helping him to achieve better artwork in less amount of time.

Since then his work got better, H received a call from renowned Pop artist Romero Britto on an idea of If you can't beat him, join them, he started helping him out with some metal painting, and airbrushing style that Romero did not do. Since then he is been helping him paint all his cars and Metal Monumental Statues.

It wasn't until September of 2007 that Mr.Casey Gunther approached or shop by asking our friend Clay Pinstiping to recommend a good Airbrush artist, M.r Gunther had the dream to expand his dealership in an artistic way creating art to display at his dealership in order to change the brand and to change the way that people purchase cars, ha had a dream of bringing vintage cars and al sorts of art and statues to his showroom in order to make the buying experience more friendly and giving the customer a new experience and feel better about the volkswagen brand.

Little by little starting with a trailer and a license plate, Casey and Jean-Claude started creating art, painting a Brand new R32 as a Poker edition, then a panel bus then some vintage trucks, at the beginning was very hard to make people believe, like salesman for example that believe that selling a car its just selling a car, but Casey idea was beyond graffiti that , he didn't just want to sell a car he wanted to share his love for the brand.

Today after Gunther Buford, the dream dealership, that had everything from two showrooms one dedicated to vintage cars and another for the new cars with a tunnel of tome that divides them, couches, booths for salesman, and lots and lots of art, Mr.Gunther is working consulting with volkswagen, and selling our biggest accomplishment as artists a set of statues called bubbleheads, build out of stainless steel standing 8,9, or ten feet tall , they are an artist piece that resembles an 1950 vintage artwork of Mr Bubblehead, JC and Casey created them as art pieces to welcome customers into the stores, made under the idea of pop art statues, their faces are created with the Volkswagen symbol, the boy is showing a peace sign and the girl is waving in.

This statues and a set of signs that we call branding signs are part of a package of many things that we are offering to volkswagen dealerships all over the country, that are looking to change the way they sell cars and entertain their customers
