Asahi was overtaken by M & J Management Company in February 2008 and continues its success to reach its optimal potential till this date. It recently went through a remodeling to better accommodate the patrons. Asahi has a similar local demographic as A Mi restaurant in Westwood with a nearby campus - California State University of Northridge. Asahi offers continuous promotions and discounts to the students which attract them even more. Asahi draws in generous amount of residential family members as well on top. The spacious patio seating makes it ideal for group gatherings and special events for many CSUN students. It has become the “hot spot” in town due to its friendly service and atmosphere. From looking outside in, it looks and feels like another “hole-in-the-wall” restaurant but do not let the image fool you. People line up outside on several occasions to dine in at this location constantly. Last but not least, due to the advantage of having a spacious parking area, Asahi adds convenience to the patrons which enhances their overall dining experience from the moment they arrive all throughout the meal and until they leave the premises, feeling the urge to return shortly after!
