Established in 1853 the "Ashland Protection Fire Company No. 1" or "Citizens Relief Fire Company" is now known as the Ashland Fire Department. We became a chartered member of the International Association of Fire Fighters in August, 1960.
We provide Fire & EMS service to the City of Ashland, Milton, and Montgomery Townships. We provide EMS service also for Orange Township. We provide reciprocal mutual aid to numerous Ashland County Volunteer Fire Department or Fire Companies.
We service 96 square miles from one central station, responding to an average of 3,800 calls per year with an annual operating budget of 3.2 million dollars per year.
