Family Solutions Program Our Program Specialist (Kathy Davis) works with the
family/individual one-on-one to find the best community resources for their needs. This provides an advocate who works on their behalf in finding solutions to unique issues. Our focus is on creating short and long term goals while mentoring families toward a more productive future and life.

Upcoming Parenting Program

This program will work toward increasing knowledge of early childhood development through home visits and parenting classes. The program will reach out to families of children ages 0 to 3 and ANY family member is eligible to join.
(Currently being implemented)

The Launch Youth Services mission is to increase the number of prepared, qualified youth entering the workforce through professional counseling and career guidance. Launch is designed to serve all out-of-school youth between the ages of 16 and 24. Coordinator Jazmine Maxwell is at the center every Monday and Friday.

Crisis Service of North Alabama (CSNA) offers comprehensive crisis intervention and prevention services. Our services include: HELPline, Rape Response, Domestic Violence Court Advocacy, HOPE Place Shelter, Education & Training, and Referrals. Coordinator Sharita Jenkins is available Monday - Friday.

Darius Turner, representative for The Alabama Career Center System, offers consultation to anyone who is in need of employment, resume preparation, and job search assistance. This free service is available on Tuesday. Call for an appointment.

Financial Counseling
Families are encouraged to make a budget and work to resolve debt, thus creating a better future. Please call the center for an appointment.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Alabama (BBBSNA) strives to ensure that all children achieve success in life by partnering with parents/guardians, teachers, volunteers, schools, and others in the community. Call Nick Thomas at 256-585-7253 to schedule an appointment

Pastoral Counseling with Daryl Brooks
offers both family and individual counseling. Call FRC to discuss details for scheduling an
appointment.

Shepherd’s Closet
Our clothing and household closet is available every Tuesday and Thursday from 9 to 11:30.

In partnership with the City of Athens, Limestone County Commission, Tennessee Valley Authority and United Way as well as a wide array of area churches and a host of other organizations, we have cultivated relationships to enhance the lives of those we serve.

Volunteers
We welcome volunteers of all ages to get involved at The Family Resource Center. Opportunities range from clerical and janitorial to donation organization and tutoring. We are open to new ideas that might help us in our effort to make a positive difference for the lives of those in our community. We encourage you to give of your time at FRC; we think you will find the rewards are priceless!

Windows for Awareness
FRC’s way of bringing monthly awareness and unity. It encourages students, artists, and others to get involved in community outreach and service. If you are interested in donating your time and talent, please contact us to sign up.
