The Hairdressing and Cosmetology program at Austin’s School of Spa Technology focuses on the development of the skills and knowledge that students need not only to pass the NYS Cosmetology Licensing Exam but also to become exemplary professionals in their career paths.

Barbering

“Everything old is new again” or so the saying goes, and barbering is no exception. The word “Barber” brings up a lot of old fashioned images – but modern barbering is a whole new adventure. The new barber is trained in the traditional skills, with an eye to the cutting-edge of men’s grooming. Men today are looking for their own place: a place where they feel comfortable receiving services that are designed specifically for them, and a person who is dedicated to providing those services.

Esthetics

Austin’s program in Esthetics focuses on the development of the knowledge bases and skills that students need to not only pass the NYS Esthetics Licensing Exam but also to become exemplary professionals in skin care. An Estheticians license will allow you to pursue a career where you can bring out the inner beauty of your clients, and help them look their best!

Nail Technology

Nails are the accessory that everyone can wear and wear well. A student in the nail technology program will learn the three major applications of artificial nails: acrylic, wraps and gels, as well as how to deliver an amazing manicure and pedicure that will keep even the most finicky clients coming back. The program also provides students with a solid foundation in the science of nail care, with a focus on safety to protect our graduates and their clients.
